A hierarchical model for industry 4.0 concepts

Abstract Purpose: This research aims to structure a hierarchical model that integrates the industry 4.0 (I4.0) concepts and standardizes based on literature. Originality/value: Kamble et al. (2018) point out lack of architecture represent I4.0 concepts. paper brings an approach relationship between these I4.0. It expands studies by Ghobakhloo Liao (2017) homogenizes terms present in Design/methodology/approach: From systematic review literature Scopus ScienceDirect databases, from 2011 2019, 91 articles were reviewed, which 58 analyzed. Findings: literature, related grouped into three categories: technologies, principles, dimensions. Technology clusters tools used promote changes transformations processes, here called principles. These create new standards, enabling process integration for problem-solving, contributing implementing intelligent management. The categories results can be identify opportunities future research, demonstrating associations have not yet been explored. opens possibilities organizations enter fourth industrial revolution. help practitioners researchers understand this detail facilitate construction valid operational manufacturing platform.
